X & Y axis noise, failure to home

In the last half of a 29 hour print, received an error of failure to home (is it supposed to check the homing during a print?) The X & Y axis began to make a lot of noise,,  Was told to check the belt tension and alignment (#17102?), as well as look for obstacles in their path.  Everything checks out okay, I adjusted the tension as best I could, but I believe it was good to start with as the large print I was doing was essentially a box, and there were no misalignments on it.   I kept trying to home the axis, and finally, the head went so far to the right that it knocked the extruder pins in and the extruder fell off. After replacing the extruder (extruder #1) I attempted to park #1, but nothing happened.  When I tried to park the current extruder, then it noisily moved back toward the parking area, but since it was not homed, I stopped it before it could crash into the parking area.  What can I do?

Additional information:  I just noticed that the left rear motor is not turning.  When I move the x or the y axis, that motor does not turn.  The noise I hear is due to the right rear motor (Top belt) turning, but the left Rear motor (Bottom belt) simply slips.  Hope this helps

RE:

tighten the grub screws on the pulleys? i doubt the belt slips the pulley...unless your belts are really slack

The screws are tight.  The belts are tight. The problem is the left rear motor is not turning at all.  I have contacted Prusa via their contact form, but have had no response in over a week.  This seems to be either a bad motor or else the electronics controlling that motor have gone bad.  But, without communication to the company, what can I do about it?  Allow the warranty to run out?

Thanks for all the help.  Problem was a bad buddy board.  Tried replacing the main board but that didn't help, so we finally traced it down to the buddy board.  Once I replace it, it has been going like gangbusters.
