usb-c port on xl-buddy board

as part of my enclosure design I have to add about a meter to the xLCD cable.  Given the reliability issues that seem to crop of with the USB at the control panel (and prusa's decision, a bit inexplicable in my opinion, to only provision for cheap usb2.0 storage "remote from" the actual CPU - they should have a header for emmc on the mainboard) i'm looking into relocating the usb drive.  In the xLCD schematics it's obvious the usb2.0 lines are directly connected; I need to verify on the lcd end that they aren't used for anything besides the usb port (the lcd itself talks over SPI it appears, and the buttons & buzzer have dedicated lines)

However - I notice on the XL-buddy board there is already a USB-c port.  Does this have data enabled?  That would certainly be a hell of a lot easier than hacking a custom cable to extend the LCD but keep the usb2.0 "at" the mainboard.
