Hey everyone,

My Prusa XL and I’ve noticed a kind of buzzing / vibrating sound during movement — the best way I can describe it is like a beard trimmer / electric razor 😅

It happens mostly during travel moves or at certain speeds. Other than that, everything seems perfectly fine.

However, I actually stopped the print early because I was worried it might lead to bigger issues if I continue printing.

So before I keep using it, I wanted to ask:

Has anyone experienced this kind of sound on the XL? Is this normal (like motor/belt resonance), or something I should fix first? Should I check belt tension or lubrication, or just continue printing?

I can upload a video with sound if that helps.

Thanks a lot 🙌

I have watched your video. The problem is not mechanical. It's firmware related. Phase stepping does not work with the 6.4.0 firmware (which you are most likely running).

You can either flash 6.2.6 OR 6.4.1RC (latest firmware as of now), run your calibrations again, including phase stepping calibration. The noise will go away.
