Official enclosure: Filtration settings per filament?

I'm having trouble understanding what controls the filtration (or not) on the printer.

From the official page ( https://www.prusa3d.com/product/original-prusa-xl-enclosure-2/#parameters):

The XL printer automatically controls the filtration and utilizes airflow where the air is drawn in from below and blown through the HEPA filter out of the Enclosure.

(...)

For materials that do not produce as many particles and odors (such as PLA and PETG), filtration is not used to extend the life of the HEPA filter, but can be activated manually.

However, on the printer, I can only see "manual settings", with toggle buttons, speed, etc.

I can't find any settings on the prusaslicer either.

Is the filtration on/off built-in in the printer as a function of the filaments being used (at the moment, or, at any point during the print)?

I have the impression that the filtration used to run all the time, when using PLA / PETG.

Do the "manual settings" reset after each print? Is there a way to reset the manual overrides to "auto"?
