Loading low temp filament

I always unload my filament when done printing to prevent filament from getting wet and breaking in the PTFE.

When loading a low-temp filament into extruder that had a high temp filament say from PC to ABS The PLA cant push thru.

I load the PLA as ABS then unload and reload as PLA. Is there a way to load without going thru this cycle?

The general advice is always to load at the higher temperature and purge out any filament residue.

A method which I repeatedly resolve to adopt but inevitably forget is:

When unloading high temperature filament always reload PLA scrap at the high temperature then unload again.  In theory it always leaves the printer in a ready-for-any-filament condition - it works - if only I remembered to do it every time.

Cheerio,

You're saying load the p l a at a higher temp , Such as loading it as ABS. Is there any way in the software to tell it It's actually pla without going through unloading it and reloading it again as pla?
