Extruder #2 extrusion issue
Im having this print quality issue with my #2 extruder. I tried 3 different brands of filament with the same result. Extruder 2 had the same settings as 1 & 3. When material is moved to different extruder, print quality is good. Not sure what to check for.
RE: Extruder #2 extrusion issue
could your thermistor on extruder 2, be different?
thermistors are sensors which return a numerical value which is then converted into a temperature via a look up table. the thermistors have a tolerance and you may have samples from different batches. I believe the prusa (semitec) thermistor is 3% tolerance so I Guess one could be 3% high and the others 3% low or vice versa, so you may have a difference of say 6%
of course if the extruder 2 thermistor is faulty, the difference could be even bigger...
could you perhaps swap the heater block with thermistor and heater between say extruder 2 and extruder 5, and see if the problem moves to extruder 5?

RE: Extruder #2 extrusion issue
yeah, it's worth a shot. it does look like a temperature related issue with lots of excess extrusion. my thought is that it's definitely related to either the temperature or the extruder motor not properly feeding material.
RE: Extruder #2 extrusion issue
It's definitely a hotend issue. The problem cleared up on #2 after the swap and followed to #5. I'm going to reach out to Prusa for a replacement.
