Changing from 0.6 to 0.4 nozzle

Hi All

I am changing some of of the nozzles on my 5T to 0.4, getting old nozzle out is ok but getting new nozzle in is really hard feels like it is cross threading, but when I take 0.4 out there is no sign of cross threading. Any ideas/advice would be really appreciated.

Alan

RE: Changing from 0.6 to 0.4 nozzle

I did exactly the same.  The trick is to make sure the hotend is level with bottom of the extruder carriage.  The sensor wires had a tendency to pull it at a slight angle.  I used one hand to move it straight and the other just to screw in the new nozzle.  Should go in very easily (no force)

Hi Jim

Yeh that's what did as seeing as block is aluminum and nozzle brass, I am wondering if I had a slightly off tolerance nozzle, managed to get 0.6 nozzle back in and will have another go after xmas. Might need a replacement extruder carriage though but hey that's life, and thanks for the reply.

Cheers

Alan

RE: Tool change and Z-calibration fail

I bought an assembled XL 5T unit and the calibration for tools failed after a few attempts. All the prints shift from the 2nd layer onwards and being in Australia, help is hard to come by. Is there anyone in Qld Australia who can give me advice it's impossible to get help from Prusa as they put you on hold for hours and trying to explain the issues via the help text line is downright frustrating. I waited 2 years and thousands of dollars later only to have a dud. All I can say to whoever is listening is don't by Prusa XL (Xtreme Loss) 🙁
