2nd day with semi-assembled 5 head xl - some observations
Hi Printers,
First of all: assembly was flawless (I say that as a somewhat experienced printer tinkerer).
Fan test only passed after several retries and nozzle heating cycles, all other tests and calibrations without problems.
First prints with PLA came out perfectly, also several multitool-prints came out very nice - no complaint with this.
Observations: The Docks do not fit completely into the profiles. I guess that this is not intended, but since they are equally not fitting perfectly, well fixed and aligned, there is no problem so far, alignment in the prints is perfect. No wobble or misalignment visible at all :).
The x/y motors get very hot, maybe that was the reason for a layershift that happened in a larger 1-tool-print -> I installed a 40x40 cooler on each of them and will continue to monitor this. Fine so far.
I also saw several significant slow-downs in a singletool PETGprint without an obvious reason (simple hollow cylinder with 4 walls, 300mm diameter, the speed occasionally dropped from 70mm/s down to something like 5mm/s). Has any of you seen similar behaviour? Looks to me like a software issue (stable IS version) or a thermal-throttled CPU (?). Any hints from the community with this?
In one print the bed level was not right, printer started in some parts of the bed about 0,3mm too high. Fixed this by just starting again.
All in all I'm really happy with that tool so far, expecting more fixes and functions hopefully soon, like spooljoin, mixed nozzle sizes ...
Happy printing!

My 4th day! The only set up problem I had was the wireless connection. Still not working. I also had numerous fan speed fails but after my first print they passed.
Big learning curve on making 5 color stl files but I will get there. Easy to set up an calibrate. Very happy!!

Can't edit the initial post -> found the spooljoin option on the printer 🙂

@Yazzman56: I also had problems with the WiFi setup. My problem was that Prusa does not support the maximum password length for WPA2. 63 character are not support (now?) and you will not get an error message. It just does not work. Tried a shorter password from my guest WiFi and that worked. At the moment I use the cable connection.
