PSA: Prusa Connect control may move without homing and collide with docked tools

It seems that clicking on the print bed to move the toolchanger in the Prusa Connect/Control UI may not ensure that the printer has homed since power on. For me, the sequence of events was as follows:

  • Newly-assembled semi-assembled 5-tool.
  • Printer previously updated to 5.1.0 fw.
  • The printer has gone through all first run tests and calibrations, but nothing has been printed yet.
  • Turn on the printer.
  • Use LCD Control menu to pick up tool 1.
  • Use LCD Control menu to "Park current tool".
  • Turn off printer.
  • Turn on printer.
  • Set up WiFi using ini file created by prusaslicer.
  • Set up Prusa Connect.
  • Using Control tab in prusa connect, click roughly the centre of the print bed to move the print head there.
  • The printer has not homed since power on, and does not home as a consequence of the previous step. The toolchanger head is currently just in front of tool 1 which was previously parked.
  • The toolchanger moves further towards the back of the printer and stars grinding with force from left to right across the main locking forks sticking out of tools 1 and 2.

I have reported this to support.
