Orca Slicer for XL

There is now a profile in Orca Slicer for the single tool Prusa XL.  It will not support multiple extruders yet.  If you send a multi filament gcode it will try to do a filament change on the 1st extruder.  Hopefully there will be a multi extruder version soon.

It is so nice to easily do calibration tests with Orca Slicer. With 5 heads I can easily check different filaments by just changing them on the machine LCD without reslicing.

That would save a lot of time.

Orcaslicer 2.2 beta with multi tool support is now available on GitHub.  It looks to be awesome with multiple nozzle size capabilities.  Please share your experiences with this version.

Super excited for this, i tried a few prints using the preloaded config. Was able to connect and print with the head currently loaded, but any time I added a head change I get stuck in a loop of "Please remove filament from filament sensor" then get told to load the filament back lol. It wont seem to trigger the head swap..is there a config/setup step I missed?

thanks in advance!

It sounds like you didn’t load the Prusa XL 5T printer.  If you load the Prusa XL it will behave as you said.  I finally got around adding filament profiles from Prusaslicer (manually).  The 5T is great.  Did  up some PETG/TPU prints.  Very nice. So far only a few bugs but so nice to use one slicer for all my printers.

Orca 2.2 is released with support for the XL 5T!  There are not many filament profiles yet.
