layer shifts when using .25mm structural

kind of interesting...

I'm using .4mm nozzles and have a very large print so I decided to try out .25mm structural layer heights on the XL.

print started off fine, so i left it for a few hours. it layer shifted left over 10mm. interesting.

i checked everything and decided to try out a test print of a tall tower, it layer shifted as well.

this is the first time i had seen my XL layer shift as i have been using .15mm layer heights for the most part.

took the same test print tower and ran at .2mm and no layer shifts.

G-code looks correct so I'm going to say something is again up with the firmware.

So i restarted my first large print at .2 instead of .25mm layer heights and knock on wood over the last 12 hours it has not layer shifted.

i guess just something to look at if it happens to you. i have no experience with the .6 nozzles and thicker layer heights you can do with them.

RE: layer shifts when using .25mm structural

a little update...

so when i tried out .25mm layer mode with in 2 hours i had 3 print failures due to random layer shift.

in .2mm layer mode i have gone 2 days without a single layer shift issue and i have done 3 prints over 10 hours long. the last print ran for 18 hours no problem.

just another issue to be on the look out for.
