Filament Sensor In Tool

Does anyone know of a link to show how to clean the Filament sensor in the head itself and not on the side of the printer? When installing filament it does not see that filament has been installed and then will not purge the filament.

I'm absolutely no expert, so I'll ask a stupid question. Did you open the flip down extruder idler door and confirm that the filament is actually making it in? I had a case where it felt like it had hit its stopping point, but it was just the PTFE tube that was not inserted all the way in, and it was hitting the gap.

Forgot to mention, here's the assembly guide for the MK4 Nextruder.  This shows you how to get at it even if it is slightly different from the XL.

The filament has to be pushed passed a sprung ball just like the side sensor. You should feel resistance as you push the filament in until it's passed by the ball. If you don't that, then yeah you need to get in there and look.

Thanks everyone for the help. I did in fact have a little bugger in there and that was causing the issue. I am thankful for that MK4 guide!!
