Filament Sensor Calibration fails on 1 extruder
Hi All
I saw a thread in the single extruder forum on this but I'm looking for any ideas here. I FINALLY got all the calibration to work except for extruder 1 and it's filament sensor. Extruder 2 works fine and passed. Extruder 1 does print but I can't get it to pass that calibration even after preheating.
Any suggestions?
RE: Filament Sensor Calibration fails on 1 extruder
which sensor? the one on the side or in the toolhead?
do you feel the force of the ball pushing on the filament when inserting or is the ball stuck?
RE: Filament Sensor Calibration fails on 1 extruder
It's the toolhead sensor itself. the second extruder has no issue and I can see on the display when both the side and toolhead 2 pick up the filament. I'm thinking this may be a lose wire in the cable back to the board.

Pulled the extruders off and swapped them then also swapped the runner cable into the dwarf board. This issue is decidedly in the extruder itself. Not exactly sure how I'm going to troubleshoot this. If anyone knows of a schematic for the nextruder it would be greatly appreciated.

Found the issue and fixed it. Lose wire in the FS connector plugging into the Nextruder mother board. Once I snapped it back in and connected everything back up it passed the filament sensor calibration.

What cable/plug was it? I have one extruded (2) that doesn’t seem to want to see the filament in the head unless I bend it weirdly or just randomly. 🙁

The wire was in the print head itself attached to the filament sensor. It looked like it wasn't completely crimped down.
