Additional single tool
Hello, is it possible to and a single toolhead to a dual Header XL? Is the third power supply needed for 3 toolheads?
Thank you
RE: Additional single tool
I am looking for the same information. I have two 2 heads and would like to add a 3rd. Not sure I have many uses for 5 heads but 3 seems to be a sweet spot for me.
RE: Additional single tool
I have the same question.
RE: Additional single tool
Aloha 🙂
Does anyone have an answer yet? I have a Prusa XL with two heads and would like a third head. So far I've only found one post in a German forum that says it won't work. But I haven't found anything about whether it really works or not.
Chris
I doubt anyone outside Prusa has tried it.
The maths suggest the addition of a third toolhead without an additional power supply puts the power requirements into a grey zone. Probably you would get away with it using PLA and regular nozzles but some idiot would then try three high temperature filaments or large nozzles triggering a catastrophically high power demand and consequent failures.
Cheerio,

Aha! That sounds logical. Of course, with three heads there is also another power supply unit in addition to the circuit board.
Thanks for your answer 🙂
