SL1 Resing Settings compared to SL1S Speed
I have a clear Monocure Resin "3D TUFF". Monocure provides curing times for the SL1 (Base Layer 40s / Normal Layer 6-7s) - but I have a new SL1S Speed... 😊
So I compared the curing times of PRUSAMENT for SL1 and SL1S Speed as they can be found in Prusa Slicer:
Curing Times on the SL1S Speed are 25s instead of 35s for SL1 (so 71%) for base layers and 2s instead of 7,5s (so 27%).
Is it ok to assume that this curing time reduction ratio can be transferred in general to any other resin configuration which come originally for the SL1?
RE: SL1 Resing Settings compared to SL1S Speed
You can use those as start values, but you should do some proper exposure test prints to fine-tune the settings:
Later there will be an option to test multiple exposure times at once, but the firmware team is currently still working on that.
RE: SL1 Resing Settings compared to SL1S Speed
One way I'll probably try thanks for this - but the original question concerned the difference between SL1 and SL1S curing times and whether there's a thumb rule using some percentage for roughly determinig curing times in relation to original PRUSAMENT curing times for SL1 and SL1S...
RE: SL1 Resing Settings compared to SL1S Speed
I had a similar question. Check all the resin profiles Prusa supplies for the SL1S. I believe they all recommend 25 seconds for the first layers and either 2.0 or 2.4 seconds for other layers. So take your pick. I do have a dental model resin that I use 30 seconds for the first layers because I had problems with the first layers not sticking to the build plate.
