SL1 kit shipping?

Patiently waiting on my SL1/CW kit.  Table still says "2nd half of July 2019" for first week (I was first day).

Any news of kits shipping yet?  It's well into 2nd half of July (although usually 2nd half means July 31st at midnight...)

I believe that it is  unlikely that it will ship as planed.  I'm more or less expecting it to get delayed again until the end of August as it has so many times in the past.  Wondering if it will make it by the end of September...

Are the non-kit versions shipping?  It seems like they have an issue where they can build a good printer, but can’t ship it as a kit due to finicky assembly required.  If that is the case they should consider converting the kit orders to assembled-printer orders and just give up on the kit aspect.

I agree...  They have apparently been shipping the Fully Assembled version but are having a lot of issues with the kit assembly.  Screen Breaking.   I heard that it is currently in Beta Testing.  If they are having issues with he screens just pre-assemble the screen to the housing that it goes into.

I’m thinking my kit may not ship “2nd half of July”.  To give them the benefit of the doubt, there is one more day.

Anybody see any discussion/tweet/blog/anything discussing the status?  With the crickets I’m starting to wonder if there is a more fundamental problem and they’ll have to do a full reset (cancel, slip by another 6 months, whatever).

RE: SL1 kit shipping?

With one more day left for the end of the month I am still doubting my Day 1 order from back in September will ship by the end of July like they promised, but they did finally throw a teaser out there that they are getting closer.  The assembly manuals have finally appeared on the web site....

So there is hope that they may actually be shipping by the end of August.....

They must have beta testers for the kit, just to test out the procedures, maybe that is where the “completed” is coming from.

Thanks for the link, that gives me something to read while taking breaks from playing with my mk3s...

I read through it during lunch at work.  Got to at least check out how this thing goes together.  So if it shows the number of people who read it then I could be one of them but I never clicked on Complete for any of it so I presume that there are others out there that saw it posted and read through it several of them may have hit the complete button.  Or...there may be a few who actually received their kit for a beta or so.   Those lucky %$#@s...

Interesting, they’ve skipped 32 bit and jumped right to 64!  That is an Allwinner quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU in there.

Makes sense, since they are essentially driving a cell-phone display.  Using a generic cellphone chip will do the job and they jumped to 64 bit a while back.

At this point it looks like us first day order folks will be the beta testers.  Works for me!  Just gave a bunch of feedback on the latest mk3s instructions.

The instructions look simpler than the mk3: fewer moving parts.  The big difference is the many “don’t touch this yet!” “never get fingerprints on that” type warnings.

So I ordered mine 09/22/2018, the first day when it came out and today their support said that I'm in line for mid August, so it seems a 2 to 4 week delay from the stated "second half of July"

DHL says arriving Monday. Close enough to July.

Good to know it's getting close...  What time did you order?  I realized I'm day 2, so I may have a few weeks...

I have no idea when I ordered. According to my father there are two kinds of people in our family, those who make their mistakes quickly and those who make their mistakes slowly. I am usually in the slow group.

I looked at the assembly instructions. They seem to be up to the superb standard of Jacob’s  usual ones.

Just checked with chat.  They agreed “2nd half of July” was no longer the case for the first 2 days of kits.  They said I was 1-2 weeks away (ordered early on the 23rd) which puts them about a month behind.  It wasn’t clear if the person on chat really knew.  I asked them to please update the shipping table.
