Alright, now that the MK3.5 is shipping, what's the official verdict on Revo hotend support?

Same question from my side. I have a MK3S+ with a E3D Revo 6 Nozzle. Can I safely order the 3.5 Upgrade?

According to firmware release 5.2.0 it's half broken, half working:
E3D REVO hotend
As of now, there might be issues with running the REVO hotend produced by the company E3D on the MK3.5. While testing this configuration, we discovered that due to the strict checks built into the firmware, the initial self-test will fail.
It is possible to start the print, however, we recommend waiting for the upcoming release, which will extend the support for 3rd party hotends.

Yep, when I originally posted they hadn’t posted the firmware release notes. Looks like I’ll be sitting on my upgrade kit for a bit.
In the meantime, I guess I can decide what color I’ll be changing my printed parts to.

I did zero research and installed the upgrade on my Revo'd printer and luckily had no issues related to the hotend.
One of the more recent MK3S firmware updates had caused an error with the Revo, so I'm actually surprised it worked.

Wondering if there's any word on input shaping for us Revo fanciers? I'm having issues with my Revo, so am unable to print the required parts to install the 3.5 kit yet. Which seems to be lucky as it appears not to be fully supported in firmware, even with a few installs apparently working without issue. Concerned that we won't get the best results unless there's a IS profile specifically for Revo, or is the weight difference/distribution not enough to throw off the default profile?

I've been impressed with the Prusaslicer Speed profiles on mine, but I only make jigs and brackets where fine detail isn't usually critical. I think a few grams isn't going to make a huge difference since the MMU kit also changes the weight of the X carriage with the extra bowden tube.

I went ahead and upgraded mine. There are no non-IS profiles in PrusaSlicer, so all I’ve been printing with is Input Shaper. It works great and I haven’t noticed poor quality or anything. The difference in mass might have some minuscule effect, but I’d bet the difference in hotend weight is negligible in comparison to the entire extruder assembly.

I have money on this too. Still, would be nice to actually tune the bloody thing. But I'm sure they're all close enough to not really need it, nor justify the expense or weight of additional components.
How much have your prints sped up? I should go and start slicing my models in anticipation and check out the numbers. Just need my bloody revo working...

It’s about twice as fast on average. A benchy runs at 49 minutes using my preferred 20% cubic infill, and I had a big custom box I made that has a bunch of infill go from about 30 hours to 13.
I haven’t messed with it much yet, it can probably go faster.
Unrelated to Revo, the biggest issue I’ve seen so far is that mesh bed leveling isn’t working 100% as expected. On MK3.5s, it’s only running a 6x7 grid rather than 7x7, and the leveling is screwed up on the edges.

Something to keep in mind for smaller models is you'll likely start running into the minimum layer time limit set in your filament settings under the cooling option (Slow down if layer print time is below...). As always, you can play around with this and see how well your cooling can overcome this, ymmv.
As far as the actual print quality of everything for me.... wow. Just... wow. So far been printing with a 0.4mm obXidian with (mostly) stock for everything else (just functional changes for MMU PTFE path and filament sensor). I've got the 60w heater core, so it obviously fails the self-check, but the only thing that happens is you have to confirm that self-checks haven't been completed any time you start a print. After that it just works, no problem.
Quality is on-par with my MK4, which is seriously impressive. It's feels like a completely new machine.

Good to know. I have purchased the 60W version because when I will install the KIT I want to increase the flow, and I will replace the 40W heater with the 60W.
My only doubt is:
- Can the black power supply support 60W+the Buddy+MMU3+6 motors ? 🤔
I hope it will not become too hot or will short its life.
