RE: MK3.5 Upgrade Kit

Nope.  I am just posting the message off the shipping page and what is not he forum and Reddit.  It is clear based on that statement that there is something on the printers "in the wild" that is different from the printers they have in their shop.  As a user that has upgraded a half a dozen Mk3 printers all the way to Mk3S+ and built both MK3S and Mk3S+, I have seen the variation of parts and respect the complexity of the upgrade planning.

This delay does not surprise me but I am happy that I am not having deal with a printer being down because I started a faulty upgrade.

One other thing, I am thinking about selling my MK3S+ upgraded printers and just building the full Mk4 kits.  the upgrades are expensive and it might be better to have a new printer.

But then again; the online chats and I think one or two videos said it could be upgraded.  I had asked one point; what parts do I need for my old Mark III to get upgraded and heard no official response other than feed back they had been told it could be upgraded.  I went with the full 4.0 upgrade path so I would have spare parts for my other Mk IIIS+.

Was that before or after the current delay?  I am sure they will find a solution, but something has cause the delay.

that was both before I ordered and after I ordered the upgrade.  The current delay it seems so far to be about 30 days and increasing...

The current delay is on people for the 4.0 upgrade with on record early MK III - like I have.

so based on a old post - the order was assembled 4.0 machines, followed by 4.0 full kits, followed by 4.0 upgrades (just started), then 3.9 and then 3.5

what is the source of the current delay - no idea - and it should be just a matter of time...putting the way back hat on again; if you wanted a 3.5 upgrade you did have to upgrade the base MK III to an MK IIIS+.

I do have an upgrade kit I received just prior to the mk iv for the MK III->IIIS+ - so I have those parts on hand already.

RE: MK3.5 Upgrade Kit

I purchased my MK3S as a kit on 5/2020.  I placed an order for the MK3 to MK3.9 upgrade kit on 4/10/2023 (order 1681141157)  This weekend I asked for an update on its shipping status from customer service via the chat window.  I was told they could not give an estimated ship date for the upgrade kit since they have not begun to ship the kits yet.   This is a little different than what they state on the Shipping Information page ["we are shipping the upgrade only to customers who own (according to our database) a compatible printer."]

https://help.prusa3d.com/article/shipping-information_2297

It would nice if someone from Prusa could provide an update on the kit status

They may have started shipping the Mk3S->MK4 kits but have not started shipping the Mk3S to Mk4 kits.  Reportedly, they had some issues and slowed or shopped the shipments.

Your order was for a specific upgrade - did you give an order number?  If you did, they might have changed the answer.

I did give the agent my order number.  I also entered the question via e-mail and they just replied :

"The estimated shipping date of your order is by the month of September, but for now, these estimated times can change and can be shorter because we are working har to ship as much as possible. Hopefully sooner. "

I suspect that in the chat that they are individualizing the answer to the type of upgrade being purchased.

RE: MK3.5 Upgrade Kit

I just got an email survey asking me to confirm what PSU and heatbed connector I have for my Mk3S+ -> M3.9 kit order.  The email notes that they're now scheduled to start shipping at the end of August.  It looks like if you have an older (silver) PSU and/or a heatbed connection that is soldered, your machine isn't fully compatible with the 4.0 or 3.9 upgrade.  The good news for me is that my machine has the newer parts for both.

I'd be shrugging over the delays if they hadn't immediately charged me for my order in early April.  Getting charged and then (hopefully) waiting 5 months for my order to finally ship is a long time to essentially be loaning them money.

I just got the e-mail survey.  Mine has the black P/S and screw terminal heatbed.   Since my printer falls in the "OK" category I'm hopeful that the kit get shipped in August

Well that sounds pricey - It would seem that you would be better off selling the your MK3 printer and purchasing a MK4 kit
