RE:

I finished upgrading mine yesterday. The only plastic piece that's original to the printer is the filament sensor cover. Everything else is either s+, bondtech or community upgraded part. Or Mk3.5. I also installed the super pinda and a 50w heating element.

Calibration is on Monday. We'll see how it goes. I will report back in case someone is interested.

RE: MK3.5 Bondtech Extruder & Mosquito

I finished the upgrade. Everything went relatively smooth. Hotend passed with the 50w heating element without any problems. I had to set the z-length to 205 to pass calibration. E-steps are at 815 but I will test that some more. Bed leveling issue is there. Not too bad on the left side but the right about 25mm is a problem. I was watching the z steppers and they drop the head significantly. If I set the z-height to get the squish I like the nozzle will probably scrape on the right side so went a bit higher to save my plate. I tried to comment out the G29 P3.13 line in the Start G-code as someone suggested but it did not make a difference for me. Hopefully we will have a fix for it soon. I might do the silicone hose and nylock nut mod as I'm not too impressed how uneven the bed is with these new stand-offs. Or put something under them that can squish so I can adjust their height. Maybe I make some thin TPU washers.

Most of us, from what I am reading, are have issues with the HT thermistor and not the heating element.  Which Thermistor are you using?

Yes. Mosquito Magnum.

You mentioned that yours didn't register any temperature. Does that mean that it didn't indicate the hotend heating up or even at room temperature it didn't register any temperature?

It registered zero degrees at the high temperature.  I tried three different HT thermistors.  None registered a temp, so I moved on.

Wow! That is bizarre.

If you want to troubleshoot a bit more, I can measure the resistance of the thermistor at room temperature. If you stick a similar value resistor on the buddy board you should get a reading. Also have you measured if those thermistors you tried have any resistance or if they are open circuit?

I think the issue is caused by the HT resistors.

Just thought I would ask, but are you using an RTD or a Thermistor? I also have a Slice HT Thermistor and it works fine.

Slice HT Thermistor - I could never get it to register a temperature.  I gave up after two weeks of tinkering and moved on to an MK4 upgrade.  I discussed it with slice and prusa.  No one could figure it out.  I tried 3 other Slice HT Thermistors and different cables.  No avail.

Just to clarify, when you say it didn't register any temperature, does that mean that it heated up but the printer did not measure any temperature increase or it wasn't even heating up?

I wish they allowed for PT1000 compatibility. Would make life so much easier. Were you using the 450C or 300C thermistor? Did you get any reading or did it just say 0?

Do you confirm that for the MK3.5, we don't need firmware for the bondtech extruder? is defining the esteps enough? Thanks

i just installed the 3.5 update i asked bondtech support if need special fw this was there reply. The kit you refer to is compatible with 3.5 with stock Firmware. Prusa made it possible to set Z-height and Estep directly in the menu now.  Step Estep to 830 and Z-Height to 206 and you should be good to go.  This works for all our kits except for the shortcut versions.  all you have to do is hold down button on hardware menu for a few seconds then let go and u in the right menu to set estep and z height

and what additional settings are required for LGX shortcut version?

If I am correct the stepper motor rotate in the opposite direction, Can you modify this also in the firmware?

I think you don't need to change the firmware in this case, just change direction setting in the experimental menu

RE: MK3.5 Bondtech Extruder & Mosquito

you. are correct. I am using now a Revo but the print quality of the Bondtech with Mosquto magnum is far beter. If a few users of a 3d printer and have a success with this setup I will remove the Revo and go back to the Bondtech. After the nozzle change of the Revo you still have to do a first layer calibration. With the Mosquito I used a special tool. Made for the Mosquito.

RE: MK3.5 Bondtech Extruder & Mosquito

Hi guys, as I understood now some of you were able to make the 3.5 running with a mosquito hotend, right? But is it also possible to heat up the hotend >300°C? I have my 3S+ running with that combination and I print PPS with it. The Upgrade to 3.5 makes sense, but only if I can raise the temperature in the firmware.
