RE: MK3.5 Non-Input Shaper Profile
Once again, feels like we're beta testers... (Continues to hold off on completing XL pre-order)
I was hoping for a speed upgrade with at least the same quality, this doesn't appear to be what we have been given.
Give it 6-12 months as usual 🤨
RE: MK3.5 Non-Input Shaper Profile
The advertisement was very good!
"The upgrade is straightforward to install"
"you’ll be up to speed in no time!"
"allowing you to print more than twice as fast and with the same level of quality."
I believe them until I got it.

"allowing you to print more than twice as fast and with the same level of quality*."
* eventually, after you've all tested it for us for 6-12 months 😅
I didn't mind supporting them at the start, you know, open source and all that. But how have these yum cha brands come out of nowhere and started surpassing them in some areas, and at a lower cost. But now it feels like they're taking the piss, and I should take off the fan boy hat and start putting on clown makeup...
RE: MK3.5 Non-Input Shaper Profile
Hello, I ordered my 3.5 upgrade kit on the first day it was awailable.
Made some tests and was quite satisfied with it.
But printing small parts is an issue, so I was also searching for the slicer profile without imputshaper.
Is someone able to print this on an 3.5 without issues.

Thanks ahead

When you say without issues what do you mean? I printed it on one of our mk3.5's and a mk3S+ on the default .1mm layer height settings and the results were pretty similar. I had a decent amount of stringing and some underextrusion on both but I used some random silk pla that was laying around and the generic pla setting so that might be the cause. The top of the prints were pretty decent but the bottom was pretty bad on both because of the support. The orange one was on the mk3.5 and the yellow was the mk3S+.
RE: MK3.5 Non-Input Shaper Profile
Hello Jake,
thank you very much for your tests and the pictures.
Unfortunately, I had no comparison with the mk3s+ as I hadn't printed the part there. But it looks the same for me. At first I thought I should print it upright, but that doesn't work at all with the blade at the top.
I hope the statement from "hello" is not correct or is retracted again - "Update, from the devs. The prusa mk3.5 doesent have and wont have non input shaping options. By the sounds of it. "
I can also confirm the holes in the edges that were pointed out in another post. Hope this gets even better.
Has anyone already tried the firmware FIRMWARE 5.2.1. unfortunately I have not found a changelog.
THANKS and best regards Lambert
RE: MK3.5 Non-Input Shaper Profile
Is there something precluding you from creating your own profiles? Just change the layer height manually.
Running the printer slower will not give me back layer height profiles.
RE: MK3.5 Non-Input Shaper Profile
I don't understand these complaints.
Some users are saying that using IS will wear out your printer quicker because the print speed is quicker. Aren't they actually saying that a quicker print speed wears out the printer more quickly?
And as comment above about thin layers, just copy the relevant parts of the MK3s profile to your own custom MK3.5 profile.
The comment about the extruder being at it's limit at 0.2mm layer height, I don't understand that. You can't saying anything meaningful about extruder capacity without knowing speed (volumetric flow rate) and nozzle diameter. For example, I regularly print with layer height of 0.55mm and it works fine. What does that tell you? Not much without knowing speed, nozzle size etc.
RE: MK3.5 Non-Input Shaper Profile
I tried to change the X-parameter value via an G-code file with the M593 code but the value is did'nt change. I could check this while printing nut the X and Y values stay the same. In the end of every G-code file the X and Y are set to zero via the M593 code. In the menu for input shaper you can see that the values didnt change.
No Input shaper for the MK3.5
RE: MK3.5 Non-Input Shaper Profile
Input shaper has nothing todo with the nextruser. In this youtube movie they clearly explain what Input Shaping is. Also what nice what nice options there are.
RE: MK3.5 Non-Input Shaper Profile
Hi,
just two days ago I have done a print, and looking at the MK3.5 printing I though that it was exactly the MK3S. No speed increase. Slow as usual.
After the print I realized I used the wrong profile, and with the correct profile, it was running like the MK4 😆
The STRUCTURAL is the slow MK3S like, while the SPEED is the MK4 IS like.
You can detect also from PrusaSlicer profile compare.

The big question: how much stronger is structural.
i3 Mk3 [aug 2018] upgrade>>> i3MK3/S+[Dec 2023]

Hi, Stefan CNC Kitchen has given a deep answer on the topic Here 😉
