MMU3 is out now!
Greetings all;
It is with great pleasure that we announce the MMU3 release. After going through all the feedback and comments from our user base, we overhauled and updated the MMU3 and vastly improved its performance after more than 9 months of both internal and external testing.
We have spent time not only improving the hardware and parts, but also vastly improved the firmware for the overall performance and to alert the user if there is a problem, what it is and what to do to fix it.
Currently the MMU3 is set for our Original Prusa MK3s+ and now that the base work is done, we will be working on the upgrade variations of the MK3s+ and finally ending with the MK4 unit.
We would like to thank all those involved in this project and are very happy to share it with the rest of you now.

RE: MMU3 is out now!
Sounds great! I just read the whole blog post and was wondering, will there be an option to buy the MMU2S to MMU3 upgrade for MK4? I am planning to upgrade the printer and the MMU at the same time.

According to this the upgrade kit supports both. One connecter cable diffence from what I understand and the firmware for the MK4 vs MK3S would be different.
Set an In Stock alert and you will get an email when orders open on it.

RE: MMU3 is out now!
I have just received an email. Prusa have to postpone the originally planned date of shipping from late August/September by several weeks. They now expect that MMU3 for the MK4 should be ready to ship during October.
RE: MMU3 is out now!
Can I get a clarification on which upgrade to order? I will be upgrading my printer to Mk3.9, but my options for the MMU3 upgrade is for either the Mk3S+ or the Mk4. I'm assuming I should go with the Mk4 version, but it would be great for that to be confirmed before I hit order. Thanks.
RE: MMU3 is out now!
The 3.9 upgrade includes the new 32 bit buddy board that is in the Mk4, so you will need the MMU3 upgrade for Mk4.

Hello, I am ordering to move from mmu2s to mmu3 for mk3s+, can we then upgrade to MK4? What part will you need to buy? Will there be another kit?
RE: MMU3 is out now!
You will need a different cable plus a new daughter board to enable connection of the MMU3 to the Mk4's 32 bit buddy board.
There may also be additional requirements for connection to the Mk4's Nextruder.
I don't believe any additional upgrade kits will be offered or whether these parts will be separately offered for sale.
You will need to ask Prusa.

RE: MMU3 is out now!
I have to admin, I'm in love. However, I also like the MK4/MM3 upgrade. A lot of work to make it work, but it does, and reliably. I've not moved to multiple filaments yet, but still, it is a pleasure to use. I've no doubt multiple filaments will work flawlessly..
RE: MMU3 is out now!
I struggled hard with the MMU2/MMU2S but that newer got to a reliable level. I had a lot of issues with the MMU itself, flashing and stopping to do what it is supposed to, or just making noise. I gave up after many hours of tuning.
After the first test print with the MMU3 after the upgrade it is clear that the MMU3 is much better. A bit surprised that the first test went on without issues.
Mk3S+, Mk4 MMU2S never worked properly
RE: MMU3 is out now!
I just finished my MMU3 build for my MK4 the other day. After a few hours of playing around I was able to get it loading all the filaments and pass the "Load Test". I've printed about 16 hours so far and just an hour or so ago the filament ran out on one of the spools and I was able to load up a new roll and the print continued! So cool!
