Making the MMU3 More Efficient

I just built my MMU3 from the MMU2 + Kit, and seems to be working better. I have a few issues with the filament load, but think that is all pre-MMU3 issues, ie, 'Im using auto rewind spools instead of the buffer, etc.

Doing my firsts few prints, I noticed multi-color prints take a loooong time to complete, and think this can be optimized within how it does the wipe tower. My biggest thoughts are:

  • Tower size: Default is 60 mm. Can this not be dynamically set depending on the actual needs? I see the option under Print Settings / Multiple Extruders / Wipe Tower where I can reduce the size manually. Thinking PrusaSlicer could do it better that I though.
  • Purge volume: Seems it expells more filament during tool changes than it needs to. How to minimize wasted filament? Would this be under Printers / Single extruder MM setup / Purging Volume? Default states 80.
  • Purge speed: When performing the wipe, the printer speed comes to a screaching halt and becomes painful to watch. Print Settings / Speed / Acceleration Control / Wipe Tower is set to 0 by default. Can we adjust higher?

I'm starting this running list to see what others have done to speed up there prints, and what was tried but didnt work.
