Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
I have several MMU2s units. Actually I did lot of upgrades (mostly by myself, and some modification from the printables)
as the vanilla MMU2s itself I must say - is worst piece of stuff Prusa made, absolutely no reliable piece of hardware.
But with the several modification I do have it in working condition requires minimal maintenance.I would like to compare it with MMU3 to see which is better.
Mostly what I do seek is having the stable power, for some reason it happens the power shutdowns and whole MMU print goes to crap.
Is there some estimation date, I have notification set for about 2 months now but still no avail
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
The text on the MMU3 page just changed to the following an hour or so ago.
The orders of the MMU3 for MK3S/+ and the shipping are now in process. MMU2->MMU3 upgrade kits will be available for order in August.
MMU3 for the MK4 is in the testing process and should be available in late August.
Since it says shipping are now in process for MK3S means that it is any time now for vanilla MMU3 and the upgrade kits will be soon to follow. https://www.prusa3d.com/product/original-prusa-mmu3/
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
I replaced the original MMU2 board with a BTT SKR Mini E3, installed Klipper and configured the firmware for the MMU2. Some small hardware modifications were also made to the MMU2. This way the system runs error free.

RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
I have 2 x MMU2s and neither has ever really worked, I got busy with other things a few years ago and since then they have sat gathering dust. My current plan (since the MMu3 was announced late March 2023) has been to upgrade one MMU2 and to buy one MMU3 complete.
I feel teased, am I wasting my anticipation on something that will never eventuate?

RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
They originally said June, now they punted to August. This is really getting old.
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
I still love you Prusa, but your way to communicate is very confusing sometimes. 🧐
( Orders in process of a product that has never been shown as available still ? ... Wait, what ? Everything is fine 🤪 ).
For the MK3S+ MMU3, please just let us know if the countdown is in days or weeks. 👍
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
This is most intriguing, any chance to have the project somewhere (firmware, hw, stl for parts etc)?
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
So according to support the mmu3 is getting released today I'm getting another update now to see if we have a countdown

there's no getting around the fact the MMU is a big kludge. It works if you stick within it's limitations and you've fine tuned the tightness of your bolts. I never really rely on it to work. If you stick with(in order of best success for me) PLA, PLA+BVOH, PETG, PETG+BVOH it kind of works. Whole thing with having to get the tips of the filament just right is just silly. For different colors of pla, it pretty much works. It might also work with ABS/ASA, I'm not sure, but anything where the different filaments have radically different temps, forget it. I tried it with some Aquasys 120 filament too, forget it, too stiff to work with that rube goldberg contraption. It's a curiosity lol I have one MK3s with the MMU2S and one without. having the MMU on there basically makes it really pain in the butt to load tpu filament so I don't even do it on that printer.
I want to do some interesting prints with soluble filament and tpu etc and that's why I preordered a 5 extruder XL back in 2021 lol, Maybe in the next month I'll get it haha.

What I want is having 5 different materials ready to print at any time, rather than have multimaterials in the same print. The multi material per print just doesn’t seem to be reliable, Hopefully the XL will work for me. I was hoping for the MMU3 to be more usable. I should know better.
I’ll get an MMU3 in for my MK4, and if I can’t get it tweaked in a week, it will go back. I’m not spending months like I did for the MMU2

I would argue it does work for that ok. I think you and I are in the same general area, if you ever want get together I can show you how I've got mine set up. Or if you have any questions I can try to answer.

Same...just finished my order for my MK4
Just got an email that the MMU3s are up for ordering.

RE:
I have seen that the MMU3 Kit is available now Jul 27 2023. 😀 The upgrade kit is not available yet and there is no pre-order this time. ☹️
However I will just upgrade my MMU2/S once the upgrade kit will be available (in August.. ? more probably will be in September 🤔 )
However in the coming month I will be busy to mount my MK4 Kit that has been finally shipped today, and I will keep it without the MMU3 on it.
Regarding the MMU3 it sound strange to me that they state "Not Compatible with MK3S" . I never upgraded my MK3S to MK3S+ (I have the upgrade kit still in the box) since the printer was running well and I though to do the upgrade on the next big printer maintenance. I can't figure the reasons of the incompatibility, since there are no differences on the metal top frame, and the firmware on the MK3S was the MK3S+MMU2S.
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
Quite exciting! I received an "in stock alert" this morning, and have ordered one complete (other than user printable parts) this morning. I will wait for the upgrade to arrive, before ordering another for my MK4.
RE:
So I have two MK3S->MK4 upgrade kits on order. I might upgrade the non-mmu one first and wait to see how that works. After that I'll consider whether I want to get an MMU3 or MMU2S->MM3 upgrade, or just jettison the MMU altogether. With a 5 extruder XL I can't see much reason to keep that contraption.
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
So MMU3 for MK3s+ is now available, but it seems the printable parts are not released yet:

RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
Actually, I have an upgrade on order as well, to upgrade my MK3S+ to the MK4. I will contact support now, since I don't want new issues to arise with the MMU3 on the MK3S+ not being compatible with the MK4 upgrade.
