The filament is stuck in the MMU, but I can't do anything except retry.

On the MK4, I can't do anything except click retry.

The filament cannot be manually pulled out, and the selector cannot be moved.

The only thing I can do is cut the power, then move the selector and pull out the stuck filament.

I hope that in such cases, the user can handle the fault without interrupting the print by using buttons or manually moving the selector.

It's tough. But you should be able to move the selector to the right by hand, then cut the exposed filament. I pot my right thumb against the selector and my fore finger on the right side of the mmu and squeeze. It usually works. Smaller hands could turn the leadscrew...

Thank you for your response. I hope that in such cases, the selector can be moved using the buttons on the MMU. I really wish the Prusa developers could improve this feature.

The buttons were recessed because the control is from the LCD since mmu3

But unfortunately, the LCD only offers a "retry" option.

Most times I use retry, after clearing an issue it works.

does nothing happen for you?

Hello. This is due to the filament which twists towards one side  and does not fit into the selector hole (idler). With a screwdriver and pushing the filament it fits. Expect and control alignment pulley and idler and tighten screw.

I think you might have misunderstood what I meant.

I know why the filament got stuck, and I've solved the issue.

But what disappoints me is that when encountering such a situation, the device only offers me the option to retry, instead of being able to control the selector to move left or right.

Joan told me that I could manually move the selector. My understanding is that stepper motors cannot be turned when powered (it requires significant force). In fact, I attempted to move the selector and troubleshoot the issue after cutting off power, but doing so terminates the printing. I don't want this to happen.

So, in such situations, I hope to be able to control the selector's left and right movement through the buttons on the MMU or the LCD of the MK4.

I was having a similar problem with filament not loading.  On closer inspection I found that the bearings were not lining up with the filament.  So, I loosened the grub screws on the selector and lined them up, using an Allen wrench to ensure alignment, the problem went away after the adjustment.  See photos.  This was an MMU2 upgrade, there is a lot of play, and the bearings are not as wide as the groove for the filament.  As long as the bearing touches some of the filament, it looks to be fine.
