MMU3 datuming noises
Hey everyone,
I recently completed the MMU3 build/install, and have been working on calibration and first print things. So far, no real issues. However, the idler makes a loud grinding noise when the MMU first datums. It's similar to the same noise the MK3s makes when hitting the top limits of the Z axis, but I recall this being mentioned in documentation. Perhaps I missed it, but I haven't found mention of this. Is this to be expected? I just want to ensure I don't have a long-term issue despite the upgrade working as expected.
Thanks!

I have the same problem here. MMU3 works fine but makes a disturbingly loud rattling and clacking sound. This is frustrating because I can not find anything on this problem.
RE: MMU3 datuming noises
The terrible noises when the idler rotates are made by the bearings installed there, which are axially free. A new idler drum needs to be printed with the gaps for the bearings adjusted. One such is attached.
