Filament stuck at extruder gears

I seem to have set my MMU3 up ok and apart from the odd idler homing issues I've loaded to x2 PLA filament for testing. When filament is sent to the extruders i can only describe a horrible grinding of gears - it seems the filament is not being pushed through those gears. For calibration i can push a 1.5mm allen key and the filament sensor is triggered so I dont understand why it's not being fed through. Any one have any ideas apart from re-calibrating?

Found the issue. When i pulled the filament sensor through this pulled the extruder cable out. Fully pushed in and now extruder motor works. Crazy!

RE: Filament stuck at extruder gears

Hi, I have this same problem - I can tune the filament sensor with an Allen key, but when I try to print, the filament stops at the bond tech gears.  I hear and see the bond tech gears spin, but they don't catch the filament.  Any help would be appreciated. Is the problem with the Filament sensor or the alignment of the gears?

When the filament stops at the Bondtech gears, does it activate the filament sensor?
Could the Bondtech Idler Tension be too tight?

RE: Filament stuck at extruder gears

Thank you!  The filament wasn't reaching far enough to activate the filament sensor, though I had calibrated the filament sensor several times to know that it is working.  I think I have it working now, and will run some more testing tomorrow.  In short, I loosened the Idler Tension, but at that point noticed that notches in the filament in the MMU3 (presumably due to the MMU3?) were preventing the gears at that level from pushing the filament down to the nozzle.  I also adjusted the MMU3 tension, and had a successful print, so am calling it a night.  I have a feeling I have more trial and error to do tomorrow. I very much appreciate your guidance.
