I tried to edit the post for the size of the bottom, but it was already too late. It is slightly over 90mm, not 80mm. Here is a picture of the customizable_tush_brace.stl from Thingiverse. It fits perfectly in the bottom of the Rubbermaid 21-cup container.

I might be able to get down to 90mm. There is a significant slack in the cap and nut and small gains that can be made other places.
Will take a look at it today and see how it goes.
Do you need 65mm spool support, or would 60mm be enough?

60 should he good, but if it is no real effort. Make one of each to be sure.

I have a design for 60mm spools which is exactly 90mm wide and should fit into your Rubbermaid containers.
Are will willing to print a set and try them out if get .stl files to you?

Thanks! I have 3 hoours of a 17 hour print left, then I will slice and print the stand to see how well it fits. If it is good, I will do the rest and let you know.

Posted a short video of my rewind solution in use. It shows a rewind to a mostly empty filament spool and a load from a mostly full spool. You can also see that there is no trouble rewinding the full spool thanks to the small rewind that occurs during the loading sequence.

I presented my buffer system at the Maker Fair Vienna this year and even Mikolas from Prusa showed up and interviewed me on my design 😀
The system is airtight (well, almost), super easy to fill and does not add noticeable friction. It printed 2 days without a single problem at the Fair!There is still some work to do but I'll put it on thingiverse as soon as I've finished. I can't comment on the reverse systems though.

I had a failed print if the stand, but it appears to fit nicely...enough printed for me to know that much.

Or you could make them fit the next bigger one: 22" x 17" x 16"

That is why I use the 21 cup Rubbermaid containers. 🙂 You can get them from Amazon.

I have some problem where I cannot print at Point 3 layer height. I haven't cleaned my nozzle for some time, so there could be Gunk buildup inside it preventing proper flow.
I am not printing it point to layer height and should have the stand for that rewinder done soon.

The version which supports 65mm spools is 12.2cm wide. Three of them should easily fit in that box.

Posted a short video of my rewind solution in use.
The bearing cap ends (for the roller) are too small, they easily fall out of the bearings when I press them in (which requires zero effort). I am now printing them at 105% of their size to see if that makes them fit snugly.

I do not, but I do have a metal rule with mm on it. I have attached a picture, but it is slightly under 8mm wide. I printed that in PrusaSlic3r, but am printing the new ones in S3D, since S3D makes is VERY easy to adjust the size by each axis (I increased X and Y by 5%, left Z alone). I am printing the new parts out now and will let you know in another 10 mins or so.

would be interested to know how the inserts come out when using S3D at nominal size (not 5% over) if you are willing to take the time to run the print again.

Just printing the two parrts is about a 15 minute job, so no problem doing it. The 105% job just finished and it is slightly too big, I could not force it into the bearing hole. Doing the 100% with S3D now.

The print done using S3D at 100% (normal size) is the same size as the ones sliced by PrusaSlic3r, which are too small. I am now printing them at 102%.
