Verbatim BVOH

I'm getting started using BVOH, and I'm having some problems with stringing on unload; I suspect I need to change the ramming settings to get it to work well with the Inland PLA+ I'm using it in conjunction with.

Could someone who has gotten good results with BVOH please paste a screenshot of their filament's Advanced settings in PrusaSlicer so I can compare?

Thanks in advance!

RE: Verbatim BVOH

I'm using verbatim BVOH filament and I'm testing an increase of

Number of cooling moves

From 1 to 2 and setting the

Unloading speed at the start

From 100 down to 85.

What all does the ramming speed do for a filament?

I have the same issue. Did you fix it ? How ?

I had trouble with inexpensive white PLA bought on Amazon (Giantarm). Had to switch to better quality. Maybe another brand of soluble works better ?

@fabrice

From what I understand, it's a fairly common issues with water soluble material over extended use because of the ambient moisture in the air. Part of the other problem I learned is that unless you purge quite a bit of filament on each soluble purge, you'll end up with fairly weak parts since the soluble material ends up in the part layers.

I'm having decent success with the stock settings.  I'm printing something for the first time in fact with BVOH after having reasonable success with prima select pva+.

I just upgraded my tubes to the 2mm ID 4mm OD.  This in combination with the selector replacement that has a magnet in to hold the ball bearing has been great.  In fact I just put the new tubes on today.  The prima select had a few blobs that required intervention, but that was with the stock tubes, which as I believe I've seen mentioned on here are actually 1.88mm ID.  The print with prima select was with Paramount3D PLA(as Generic PLA).   The BVOH print today is with Paramount3D PETG(as Generic PETG).

I'm purging using the following:

With the above I didn't appear to have any cross-contamination of the soluble material in the model.

I'm using the Soluble Interface profile as a basis.

Ok, I just completed a prusament PLA and BVOH print.  it was a 2 day print.  it required a few interventions, but no jams etc.

The MMU2S can work, but it definitely requires tinkering.   I have now printed both the Prima Select PVA+ and BVOH.  Since BOVH is recommended by prusa as working with both PLA and PETG I'll probably stick with that is my primary soluble.
