Using Prusa printer with MMU2 to print Ninja flex

Hi there,

I wanted to print something using Ninja flex.  I put it in the MMU and it sort of loaded,  I actually thought it had then it went to pot.  The filament came down the tube until it got about half way down, then it started to do the small advance stuff it normally does closer to the nozzle.  It kept doing this and entered the extruder such that I saw the door arm bit move (which should have triggered the sensor).  Then the printer said MMU error press button on the mmu after clearing.  I could only clear with a complete reset.  I then had to unload the filament as it was not recognised as being loaded anyway.

I thought I would load the filament directly into the extruder by removing the bowden pipe.  That failed too as I could find no override and didn't want to be burning 3s firmware just to achieve this.

My question is,  can I tune the MMU2s parameters somehow?  Feels like the springyness of the filament confused it into thinking it had gone further than it had.  If I could increase the value just for this extruder that would be good. (I am only printing single filament, not doing anything clever yet).  Feels like you might need to tune the lengths that it travels before it thinks it is there.  Particularly so for retraction I would guess.

If not can I put the printer into a mode that thinks it just has one filament somehow?  i.e. it just accepts what is loaded in the nozzle rather than trying to download it from the MMU2.

Many thanks for any help.

The only "easy" solution would be to load the filament manually (whatever method you prefer). Make sure both sensors are triggered. Slice your object with MK3/MK3s profile (not MMU). This way the printer will behave like regular single filament printer.
