I was following this post : https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues/4285
And Arduino 1.8.19 is what he was using, so that is what I tried and was able to send the commands.
https://www.arduino.cc/en/software - You have to scroll down the download page, to the "Legacy Software" section.

Thank you. 1.18.19 Did not work for me. I can see the scroll but when I put in either command to read or write all I get is "ok" prompt. Baud is set to 115200 so I don't know what is going on. I type the command in and tried coping and pasting and neither work. Just keep getting "ok" response. I finally downgraded to 3.12.2. and everything works no. I wrote to Support and will see what they say.

I have been having the same problem with the 3.13 firmware. My MMU is a very very noise paperweight with that firmware. Luckily I was able to revert to the old 3.12 firmware and was able to get everything behaving as expected.
Any word from Prusa on when they'll have a stable firmware that works with the MMU2S?
RE: New MMU3 firmware upgrade on MK3S+ with MMU2S
I've had problem ever since I first tried to upgrade my MMU2S to MMU3 firmware. Today I got it working for the first time after I noticed that the two screws that hold the idler barrel (the "tube" with the 5 ball bearings on it) to the stepper shaft are too long. Their heads stuck out too far. After replacing them with slightly shorter screws (so that the tops are flush with the idler barrel) the problem went away for me.

Hello !! Maybe it can work for you but I have change my sensibility level to 5(for me) and it worked. When you receive the msg on the printer for 'not going home position' you will have an option tune.... I have tried each level of it and 5 worked for me...
