MMU frustrations!

I, like others, am having a lot of problems with the MMU. I have upgraded my MK3 to the S version.

I can't seem to find a good source for troubleshooting the MMU. Shouldn't there be an in depth troubleshooting guide somewhere? That leads you through a set of steps in some sort of order?

I think I found one issue, the Bondtech gear was slipping on the extruder shaft. So I tightened up the grub screw.

However, when I attempt to load to nozzle, it does load the filament, but then it starts making grinding noises, and filament starts spurting out of the nozzle. Is it likely that the new filament sensor on the extruder isn't registering the filament, so the MMU and extruder keep rapiding the filament into the nozzle?

How do I check for this and fix it?

I have also noticed when I begin a print that it created a big blob first at the front left corner of the plate, before printing the fat lines to the right and back again. It never used to do this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can't even print in single mode, never mind multi filament mode.

RE: MMU frustrations!

Hi Bryan,

you can see the finda and filament status on the printer LCD.

but i modified the filament sensor like this
using a 5volt led

I include an image of the same mod, on a standard Mk3S extruder to show how the 5volt LRD, is wired. below

This MOD gives Immediate status indication. led on, filament present

this makes adjusting the sensor, a doddle

Regards Joan
