Filament sensor issues

1.) I'm having a weird filament sensor issue. It seems to work fine 90% of the time but 10% of the time when it feeds the filament to the hotend the MMU2S keeps pushing and pushing until a ball of filament is forming and eventually it gives up in failure. If I then do a "load to nozzle" with that same filament it loads fine and I can start the print with that same filament and everything works fine. This has happened with different filaments, different brands so it isn't a filament issue. That all happens when doing the MMU2S Single prints. when this happens, I *think* when the filament gets loaded the PINDA goes N/A and stays N/A and the IR never changes to 1. When it all works fine the PINDA goes NA for a flash of a second and then goes back to 1 and IR goes to 1.

2.) I recently bought 5 spools of a new brand filament and am having some weirder issues with it. At random times while printing(4 hours into a print or every 10 minutes) it will pause the print, unload the filament and tell me to remove old and load new. I do nothing except press the knob to reload the same one and it loads and continues like nothing is wrong. When it does this, if I have sensor information up I see the PINDA and IR both change from 1 to 0 a split second before it pauses. I'm thinking this issue is a filament problem but it looks fine to me.

3.) While investigating this and under the support menu I was scrolling to the sensor info screen and I saw something I didn't see before "FILAMENT SENSOR VERSION" and under that it states "UNKNOWN STATE".

RE: Filament sensor issues

I came here because I was having a similar issue.  Single filament, loads and make a ball below the hot end, but won't print and says it was a failure.

I then updated my firmware to 3.9.0(?) and wow, that seems different on the menus.  I don't see where the test for the filament sensor is anymore where you get the readout of the value. All I found was a 'test' that said to load filament and if it noticed it?  It couldn't tell when I had filament in there the 5 times I tried. I did just try to do the print- and this time it did it?  I was ready to turn off the sensor, but didn't have to, this time.

Is the 1 or o value filament test gone now?

RE: Filament sensor issues

I am having the same type of unloading while printing issue as bandit, it just pauses and unloads the filament and all I need to do is hit the button and it continues on.  I have watched the sensor info screen and can't see them changing state, but I am sure that this is whats causing it.  Otherwise the MMU2S loads and unloads the filament perfectly fine.  It's very frustrating, so any suggestions would be welcomed.
