Did we lose auto-eject filament at runout in 3.9.0?

Hi all,

I'm running 3.9.0 on the printer and 1.06 on the MMU - after the upgrade the auto-filament eject process has changed and no longer ejects the filament for easy removal at the MMU unit.. I tried posting a YouTube vid of this,  I guess that's not allowed.

Was this on purpose? Am I missing a setting? the video is printing the exact same G-code file and off of the SD card with no USB attached.

any help appreciated,

JP

I ran in exactly the same issue today, using prusa3d_fw_MK3S_3_9_0_3421.hex / prusa3d_fw_MMU2board_1_0_6.hex firmwares.

By opening the MMU Unit, I noticed that the filament was "on the pulley" and "ready to be ejected", so I could not find any mechanical reason of "why" it would not eject itself 🙁

So I :

  1. removed it by hand (the MMU unit needs to be opened)
  2. loaded a new filament
  3. press the MMU middle button
  4. press the knob on the LCD to resume printing

my printing resumed well.

like you, I was surprised that the "auto-eject" feature did not trigger...

Just let the printer reload the old filament and push new filament behind until it is grabbed by the MMU.
Saves another 30cm of filament !

Having problems with bed adhesion every morning...
