Can't get MMU3 firmware installed for MMU2S

The MK3S firmware upgrade to 3.13.0 worked, but I just can't get the MMU2S firmware to upgrade. I tried both prusa3d_fw_MMU3_3_0_0.hex (from the prusa site) and MMU3_3.0.0+814.hex (from github). When I select the Flash Printer Firmware option in PrusaSlicer 2.60, the MMU2S is selectable in the Serial Port dropdown, but whenever I select the Firmware image in the Firmware Flasher dialog, the Serial Port setting immediately switches to Autodetect and the flash fails. I tried multiple USB ports (both 2.0 and 3.0), but nothing works.

This is incredibly frustrating. Updating firmware should be one of the most simple things to do.

What am I missing? Thanks for any help.

Have you disconnected the printer USB Cable, before trying to flash the MMU?
If that doesn't work, try pressing the MMU reset button when you try loading the MMU Firmware!

I may be wrong but from mmu first receiving power within the first 10 seconds of it receiving power you have to attempt to flash firmware to keep it in bootloader mode so select firmware file and auto detection port as soon as you flick power on for printer press update firmware

Please help me out by downloading a model it's free and easy but really helps me out https://www.printables.com/@Hello_474427/models

@JoanTabb @Hello - Thanks for your replies.

I think I figured the problem out (finally) and I think it's a bug in PrucaSlicer. For some reason the COM5 port is forced for the MMU, which is also the Autodetect default. So if the COM5 port is unavailable, the firmware won't flash. To try this, I  borrowed a laptop without any peripherals attached. In the Firmware Flasher dialog, the Serial Port setting immediately switched to Autodetect again, but this time the flash was successful, because COM5 was available for the MMU. It's strange behavior with the MMU only, because the printer itself doesn't have this issue. Anyhow, it's working now.
Oh, in case you haven't guessed, I'm using Windows... 🙄 ...so it could also be some other obscure reason.
