what is the height of the Mmu2s? Building an enclosure

Hi, how much room is needed above the existing mk3 frame for an Mmu2s?

I currently own an mk3 printer and i am building an enclosure for it. I don’t currently have an mmu2s but would like to leave room for it later on

 thanks

The MMU2 itself only adds a few inches to the height, but you'll want to leave room for working on it. I'd suggest a minimum of 6 inches above the stock frame. Prusa published an updated enclosure build doc for the MMU2 that you could use as a reference https://blog.prusaprinters.org/mmu2s-printer-enclosure/

The thing you'll need the most room for is the filament buffer and the spool holders which need to fan out, unless you come up with an alternate method (self-retracting spools, or wall mounts, etc). For the stock components as delivered and described in the manual, you'll need an additional 10" behind the printer for the buffer, plus more room to the left of the printer for the spools. Again, this is based on the setup as described in the manual but you could play with alternate placements. I suggest looking at the MMU2 manual as you're designing this to get an idea for how you might want to handle it.
