Yet more loading issues

I've been working on and off for the past year and a half on my i3 MK3 MMU2S. It's been a wild ride and I thought I had it fixed. I've tinkered with the screws on my MMU2S idler, with the IR sensor, the MMU2S screws with the springs, and even with the screws holding the long PFTE tubes. I can't seem to get a consistent result.

I am currently able to print single color. I've noticed the following issues:

1. All filaments besides number 3 can load to the nozzle; however, sometimes they will get stuck in the PFTE tube between the FINDA and the hotend. Fortunately, the filament usually needs a very light push and the teeth in the MMU2S will catch it and be able to push it to the hotend. I worry that when it switches filaments it will either get stuck removing the old filament or get stuck with the new filament without intervention.

2. On filament 3, I can push the filament through past the FINDA. However, when I push the button to continue, it will push the filament back out and then try to pull it past the FINDA and there it stops; the MMU2S is unable to grab the filament. Moreover, when I try to push the filament through to the FINDA, I cannot get it through as it's trying to pull the filament. I've used various PLA filaments to the same result, so it's not the material itself.

At this point, I'm wondering what more I need to tinker with before I can get a consistent good result. Anything I'm missing?

RE: Yet more loading issues

So, when I posted this, I had a failed multi-filament print. I also had not done a good function test prior to it. This is something I think I've noticed: prior to every print, I have to unscrew and rescrew the idler screws and the buffer screws, and then load and unload all the filaments. I was really hoping not to have this "ritual" but I just did this and initiated a print, and so far there appear to be no issues.

Anybody else have to do a "pre-print checklist" or "ritual" prior to every print to ensure a good print or is this just me?
