Which hotend?

Hi! I have an MK2S Multimaterial 1.0 and I'm upgrading to MK2.5 MMU2.
The MK2S came with a hotend and when I've build MMU1 I had to change the hotend.
Which one do I have to use with MK2.5 MMU 2.0?

Re: Which hotend?

Hi there, so that's mean the MK2S hotend is not compatible or does issue with MMU V2 , like the heatbreak in another post?
I don't receive a new heatbreak with my MMU V2 Kit for my MK 2.5, another thing to buy to make work the whole thing or I just buy an upgrade that made waste for my trash?
I'm tired trying to print something with the MMU V2 every time it's ending bad, maybe I don't understand this sentence "This enhanced version is much simpler than the original MMU, which makes it easier to use and less sensitive to the quality of filaments" when I order mine in April 2018 , 6 month to receive another 6 month and 10Kg PLA in the trash to print something?

Hi Djamuka,

My understanding is that the early mk2 came with a standard e3Dv6 heatbreak the MMUv1 came with a modified heatbreak, and then the later Mk2s continued with the modified heat break.

have you used the new PTFE tube in the extruder, and the R3/B7 extruder housing and angled fan/shroud?

have you made sure that the hobbed gears are all perfectly lined up?
and that the feed paths for all filament are as free as possible?
and have you adjusted filament feed speeds to match the bondtech gear pair? i think this is 27mm/s, please check as I am relying on passing memory, as I haven't built my mmuv2 yet.

regards Joan

Re: Which hotend?

Hi Joan.t

My understanding is that the early mk2 came with a standard e3Dv6 heatbreak the MMUv1 came with a modified heatbreak, and then the later Mk2s continued with the modified heat break.

Got my MK2S from 2016 so the Heatbreak is not modified, and never receive a new heatbreak with the MK2.5 Upgrade and the MMU V2 Upgrade, so I need to change the heatbreak to print something with MMU V2 and MK2.5 or it's useless?

have you used the new PTFE tube in the extruder, and the R3/B7 extruder housing and angled fan/shroud?

Yes I mounting the new PTFE tube, and check three time if it was push to the heatbreak (it's ok), the R3/B7 are mounting.

have you made sure that the hobbed gears are all perfectly lined up?
Check, check and recheck.

and that the feed paths for all filament are as free as possible?

Yes I clean all the plastic part and the filament slide like daddy in mummy

and have you adjusted filament feed speeds to match the bondtech gear pair? i think this is 27mm/s, please check as I am relying on passing memory, as I haven't built my mmuv2 yet.

Yes I try the 19 and 22 and it's seem not good, got best result with 17/17 (but didn't work great), I didn't read the 27 value, try it tonight.

The point here:
-What the exact tension of the MMU screw ((0.1 to 0.8 is not precise, and MMU ask precision)) and what's position to tune them: idler is in filament lock, feeding filament or completely free, a pic or something else would be appreciate.
-Extruder tension Screw 0.5 (or?) when no filament inside or filament inside?
-Tutorial for the tip filament, when stringing it's the speed or cooling move or ramming
....

I bought something that is supposed to print in 5 color after passing the Beta test, I'll wait 6 month for this and pay 300€ for MMU V2 and 150€ for the upgrade MK2.5 to accept the MMU V2 (+100€ filament to print in color), I should have receive something that print like the Prusa I3 after first build.
At the moment I just have an upgrade that won't work properly and I have the impression I'm (with the other) the beta tester for the product, and something tell me the MK2.5 never pass the beta test for this > FW wasn't available when i receive my upgrade and must wait again to have a FW that didn't work.

I always trust Prusa with my first printer Prusa I2 6 years ago, now I never trust again prusa and new material, I don't have a lot of money and see my money go in trash is not appreciated, it's like my time, got child and I don't have a lot of time to debug something supposed to work properly.
Just want back in April and don't buy this shitty thing and spend momey for another thing that work.

Sorry for my very bad english...
