unknown failure /04900
Hello
I just recieved an error unkown failure /04900 and when I click reset MMU it takes 1 second and the message comes again.
It is a 18h MMU Print with about 500 filament changes. So faar it run preety smooth and the filament changes work porpperly. just after about 6h in the print I had a failure TMC driver failure /04321 which I could resolve with Reset MMU
But the one /04900 not.
Any triks that I can still finish the print. Any Ideas where this could come from? I have just recently updated firmware and software, and had 2-3 smaler MMU flawles prints
Many thanks for your support
Cheers
Markus

Probably not what you where looking for, but hey: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/unknown-error-04900-mmu_484853
If you are using an unmodified MMU2 this might be the equivalent to the old "all lights flashing"-error, so upgrading the MMU powersupply might help (see corresponding thread: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mmu2s-mmu2-hardware-firmware-and-software-help/i-found-serious-design-error-in-mmu2-electronics-hardware )

Hi Robin
Thanks, yes the link above I saw, but yes...
The bottom one I did not know, but I'm a bit affraid in working on the powersupply. Should I consider an upgrade to MMU3 with an MK3S to MK3S+ upgrade?
I really like the MMU approach and would love to to some large prints on it. And at the moment it seems mechanically working pretty smoth.....
Thanks
Cheers
RE:
The mod with the additional buck-converter is cheap and easy to do - my MMU2 works nicely since I did that mod.
The MMU3 upgrade comes with a little board to deal with the power problem, so: yes doing the MMU3 upgrade will fix the same issue and probably your problem.
Crashing TMC drivers are an indication of the voltage drop thing…
ps: you do not need MK3s to MK3s+ upgrade for the MMU3 upgrade by the way.

RE: unknown failure /04900
Really, I thought I have read somewhere about the need to have MK3S+ for MMU3. So this saying I'm fine with my standard MK3S to run the MMU3? If this is the case I think this really should be my way to go
Thanks
RE: unknown failure /04900
No, you can use the MMU3 (upgrade) with the MK3S, it‘s not recommended, but possible. Just be careful with the extruder parts and pay attention to the differences (PTFE etc).

RE: unknown failure /04900
If you do not want to mess with the power supply: search Ali express for “MMU pd board” and just install that, that should do the trick.

RE: unknown failure /04900
I think I just go the safe route with MK3S+ and MMU3
Thanks for the support
