Tip forming
Hi friends,
I just got my MMU2s and I'm having a really difficult time getting it to run due to load fail. I understand the tip has to be formed properly. There are several ramming settings posted on the internet, but can someone please explain to me what the settings mean to design my own settings? Given the variation in temperature and humidity and filament type, I haven't been able to use someone else's settings.
RE: Tip forming
I know your post went out a long time ago, and hope you found your answers. I just started down the "rabbit hole" of Prusa forums and came across the same issue with my tip formations.
I have been trying to get good filament tips for a while and tried messing with ramming settings with no luck (actually made things worse). Someone told me that if all the rolls are from the same manufacturer and are dry you should only have to adjust the nozzle temp, retraction speed, loading speed, and number of cooling moves. I had to tweak these settings for some time until I got an acceptable tip.
It does take time to get right, but when you do it's worth it. I save the profiles for each manufacturer in Prusa slicer so I don't have to write them down.
That's my 2 cents, hope it's helpful.
