Selector only ramming into the left MMU2s wall
Hello Friends!
I successfully run a i3 MK3 for many prints. Recently I upgraded to MK3s MMU2s. Assembly, IR sensor calibration and XYZ calibration was fine. However, loading a single filament already failed. Firmware MK3S_3_7_2_2363, MMU2board_1_0_6.
Here goes the problem:
- Power on printer, idler rotates to position, green light in the first slot
- Using the right button I'm able to cycle for instance to the 4th slot and back, the idler rotates accordingly, the selector doesn't.
- Upon pressing the middle button (in the hope of moving the selector to e.g. the 4th slot as well), the selector motor tries to push the selector through the left end of the MMU (vibrating and repeated clicking with no end).
- If powered down, I can easily rotate the shaft of the motor, moving the selector around, so no physical blockage. If left somewhere in the middle, the selector moves to the very left after pressing the middle button and I'm left with the situation of number 3.
- Checking the sensors (after power up, during the clicking noise of the motor and after aborting with another middle button click) all of them always state 0 (= no FINDA signal preventing the selector from moving)
- Single short press of the reset button doesn't seem to do anything. Sometimes the pulley is rotating backwards for quite a while (I don't yet understand what it is doing), but then back to number 3.
So, whatever I do, I'm always stuck with the selector motor trying to push the selector through the left wall. Right now, I'm a little clueless.
Cheers Tom
RE: Selector only ramming into the left MMU2s wall
My bad, I found the problem. Selector and extruder motor cables were swapped on the board 😵. My mistake.
However, I backtracked to the assembly instructions ( https://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/3.+Electronics+and+MMU2+unit+assembly/757 , step 5) and found that the arrows/colors and the text of the pulley and extruder moter were swapped as well.
Cheers Tom

is it possible that they changed the naming on the motors because i followed this instructions when assembling but didn't have this issue.
