New Sensor Calibration Issues?

I can't get this new sensor calibrated, and thus can't properly use this system with the MMU2S it seems.

If I move the chimney left, it reads as 0. If I put in the small wrench into the filament feed, it stays as 0. If I move it back right, it will eventually go to 1 but also stay 1 regardless of wrench being in or out.

If I try first layer calibration with the MMU2S attached and the sensor disabled, it will shoot out only about 3 inches from the MMU2S, assume it's loaded and just go without printing. If I remove the sensor, it just feeds forever, stripping the filament in the gears while creating a puddle at the home spot.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong here, but I think it all has to do with this new sensor and it makes no sense to me how it operates or is better for the other 99.5% of print types where the material isn't clear.

RE: New Sensor Calibration Issues?

There is a modified version of the idler door (look in my post history for the link), sounds like you need it.

The issue is that the flag on the door is not properly tripping the IR sensor. The modified door will let you dial it in by sanding down the flag until you get a consistent correct signal.

I suggest disconnecting the MMU and getting your IR sensor issues sorted out as a plain MK3S first. When you can get through an entire print with the IR sensor enabled and no false run out events, then it will be time to try the MMU again.
