MMU 2.0 not resuming after issues loading / unloading filaments

I am printing Gustav as my second MM print, and its going well. The MMU fails to load / unload filaments from time to time which does not bother me to much. Except when it takes me too long to get there and fix it, and it needs to come back upto temperature when it resumes it does not extrude filiment for a few layers which is causes gaps in my print.

Can anyone tell me whats configuired correctly ?

Why didn't you install the R3 update ? MMU 2 works better with R3 parts installed.

I installed the new PTFE tubing and eveything else that came with the MMU2 kit, but my MMU2 did'nt have new fan mount if thats what you are referring too.

I doubt this would be causing the issue though, the filament doesn't seem to even be making it to the extruder idler

Re: MMU 2.0 not resuming after issues loading / unloading filaments

Well, we are experiencing the same issues here, even with R3 parts installed. So far four failed attempts to print our first sample - the Penguin. The best we could do was a half-penguin with several skip-layers. As opposed to the single material MK3 which prints smoothly non-stop almost autonomously here, MMU2 requires constant attention - it even requires our attention through its LCD screen 😀

The main issue seems to be the process of the filament return back to MMU2 unit. As it goes through FINDA sensor, the string gets stuck in the FINDA or in the PTFE tube.
Another issue is that pulleys in MMU2 keep getting loose in time no matter how hard you tighten them. At some point the MMU2 comes to a halt.
Among other things on the growing list of issues, there are instances when the filament string does not even make it to the extruder during a filament switch but for some reason the printer things the load was successful.

As ever, we will keep trying to "tred the fine line", but it would be great if there were an easy fix for the issues above.

You guys at PRUSA RESEARCH, as we are sure you aware of the issues and the related discussions being held all over the internet, including on GITHUB https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues/1163 , can we expect any help? If so, then when? Thank you. Four more failed print attempts today, zero success.

Where do the failed load/unload sequences exactly come from? Just stringing or does the filament not get pulled back enough?

Check wether your calibration is on point. Manual at: https://manual.prusa3d.com/Guide/Service+menu+-+Individual+Filament+Calibration/842?lang=en

Also check if you're using filament that is at least decent. I suspect you're using prusament aswell? Do specific filaments cause trouble stringing? And does the prusament? I notice that the MMU can be a bit sensible to filaments sometimes.

I make things

Finally got mine built! However I am also having to babysit the printer due to the filament not unloading/loading correctly during colour changes. 🙁
