MK3s MMU2s not ever loading any filament....all sensors calibrated.

FINDA tests 0/1 properly.  Can easily push filaments all the way out through the FINDA and into the feeding tube.  Filaments are grabbed and pushed to the FINDA, but it appears to do about 1 rotation on the gears, and then immediately reverses...as if the FINDA is not seeing anything.  Support/Sensors/FINDA goes 1/0 when testing.  Even taking off the feeder tube, the filament will not load.

Have loaded the new firmware, reset the firmware, turned on and off, tried doing first layer print...but it always fails to load the filament.  I've disassembled the selector/FINDA, made sure there is nothing blocking, manually pushing filaments from the buffer are smooth and easy.

I'm guessing that it is trying to load and within the specified duration, if the FINDA doesn't sense, it automatically reverses.  It tries a few times, but never comes out....even though in testing the FINDA does work.

Ideas?

Was trying to load PLA and PETG, but after a few more hours, I was able to get it to load.  Sure wish that it wouldn't have to take 9 hours to get this tweaked and adjusted.  I had the MK3s tested and running in about 30 minutes.  The MMU2s was not easy.

It ended up being that the IR sensor would get itself out of alignment just by the amount of tension the feeder tube could place on the tower when the printer head would be at different heights or positions.  After a little more adjustments on the IR and tightening even more of tower screws, it is working.  Was not guessing that the IR would go out or that the feeding operation would be even looking at the IR until the filament was actually passing down that far, but it appears that the IR is feeding into the equation at the very start of the feed for a new element.

I would like to add that the LED on the top of the FINDA turns off when the load process sends a filament, and then it retracts the filament.  And, when loading a filament, the slot does end with a green LED to show that it is properly loaded.

What kind of loading are you doing? (three options possible)

It sound me normal, and happens when you do "Load Filament" from the LCD panel.

Then you need to PREHEAT the nozzle (from the LCD panel) and finally "Load to Nozzle" still from LCD panel.

It is this last command, that brings the filament from the MMU2 to the Nozzle 😉

See my post about MMU2S not loading filament to nozzle.
