What other upgrades for the mk3s+?

Hi,

Are there any worth while upgrades for the mk3s+ aside from bear upgrade?

I saw some beefy Y motor mount that helps with noise and tension of the belt.
Not sure if there is anything to further improve print quality and reduce further noise in the X,Y,Z travel.

I added the squash feet and that helped.

There are, but the consensus is that they only make incremental improvements to anything. There are no mandatory day-one improvements required to get good prints.

What he said. With a paver and Sorbothane feet, the Mk3S is eerily quiet. The only "upgrade" I recommend is a nickel-coated copper heater block ( https://www.printedsolid.com/products/e3d-v6-nickel-plated-copper-heater-block) but even that is a nice to have.

I’m really not sure what that is.

Agreed. Prints great as is. I thought there might be further improvements with upgraded printed parts for better belt alignment, etc…

Not in any hurry and enjoying.  I have it on 2” thick EVA foam + granite cutting board + squash ball feet.

I saw a cage with pikachu for motor turn indicator. Gotta have some fun. 🙂

Doing the horizontal spool holder now.

It is impressive, assemble, it just works and prints well. No regrets.

Sorry, not a good pic. The water faucet extruder visualizer is the only real upgrade I've made. I've upgraded some hotend components over time, but am overall very pleased being still at the original Mk3 configuration.

feet and paver

Fuchsr, I assume that a paver is a flat paving stone?  Also, what size/hardness of sorbothane feet do you get the best results from?

Yes, I used a 16 x 16 x 2 concrete paving stone from Lowe's (such as https://www.lowes.com/pd/Pavestone-16-x-16-Square-Slate/1002242514), and covered it with Plasti-Dip. The Sorbothane feet are 1'' hemisphere: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005JRMYG2

EDIT: I know there are different "duro" grades for the sorbothane. I have zero idea what that means so I picked the ones in the middle of the range, and they work great.

Higher duro are stiffer

I used 70 duro. Most are probably just fine.
