RE: Setting up Octoprint on MK3S
Case I used is this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3811421
It has fan mounting molded into the top (inside). Great case - and I love it.
Comes in two flavors: Direct mounting to the MK3 / 3S frame or standalone.
At my request - he did a Pi 4 version also. They are NOT interchangeable.
RE: Setting up Octoprint on MK3S
Well shoot - I posted the link to the Pi 4 case.
The one for Pi 3 is:

Good. I've been looking for a case design that will accommodate both!

RE: Setting up Octoprint on MK3S
Does anyone have the raspberry inside their printer enclosure?
Yes, but it's on the bottom shelf with the printer above. The "enclosure" is really an open-back rack, so between the RPi being lower and lack of heat, it's not anything special.

I ended up mounting it with a VESA type mount.

@robert-rmm200
Octoprint on Pi Zero W works very well. I am running this combination for five months now without any complaints.
RE: Setting up Octoprint on MK3S
Sorry if this is basic (or covered elsewhere) but if I buy a Pi Zero W and SD card do I need to buy a card with OS installed? Or does Octoprint replace the OS?

Buy a bare Pi Zero W and a blank micro SD card. Download an image from the Octoprint web site. It includes the OS.
You may be happy with the Pi Zero - but it is definitely marginal, and not recommended by Octoprint.

Has anyone tried installing the GUI for 0.17 build on a Pi4 ? Installation seems to succeed, and boot to gui was selected during install, but still at command line after a reboot.

Yes and it works.

BTW. This is the setup I settled on - using instructions here: FlyingT/OctoTouch. Except I'm now running Octoscreen instead of TouchUI (I found TouchUI quite hard to use on a resistive touchscreen), and I have the Pi plugged in directly into an outlet rather than going through the buck-converter (I think I like it better this way, since pulling the plug on the Pi when the printer is turned off is not really good for it). I'm pretty happy with this setup.

I love that set up. I really which there was one layer that for an Ender.

Actually it doesn't work out of the box; you need to play some games to get Bonkers updated to the released version. But then that may depend on where you got the Rpi4 0.17 build. But there is a script to run to update the install to the full release, and once that has propagated, then the gui will install and run.
ps: Bonkers == Buster == ??? lol

If I can do it, anyone can do it.

I just upgraded to Prusa Slicer 2.0, however I notice that the printer octoprint config is slightly different than Slic3r PE. Does anyone have instructions or a link to a manual for Prusa Slicer 2.0? I could also use an idiots guides to installing octoprint plugins.

There's really not much to it.
Under the Print Host Upload section under Printer Settings:
- Host Type set to Octoprint
- Hostname set to name (e.g. Octopi.local) or IP address of your RPi running Octoprint.
- API key/password set to the API code of your Octoprint installation (get this from Octoprint web page).
That's it. Once you've configured it correctly, you can send files directly after slicing and optionally tell Octoprint to start the print.

RE: Setting up Octoprint on MK3S
Many thanks, I have followed your instructions and things seem to be working. However, I want to learn more about using plugins and implementing upgrades to Octoprint. Can you recommend some introductory materials?
