Problems Installing Klipper Firmware on Prusa MK3S+

Hey everyone,

I’ve been trying to install Klipper on my Prusa MK3S+ but ran into a couple of issues:

When flashing the Klipper firmware, the process got stuck at the end and didn’t finish properly.

I couldn’t find a good, reliable printer.cfg for the MK3S+ that worked out of the box.

My setup:

Prusa MK3S+ with stock E3D V6 hotend

Stock Bondtech-style extruder

Stock PINDA sensor

Raspberry Pi 4B (4GB RAM) running Fluidd

MCU connected via USB (serial: usb-Prusa_Research__prusa3d.com__Original_Prusa_i3_MK3...)

Also, do I need an AVR programmer to flash the firmware, or can it be done just through USB?

If anyone has advice or a solid config to share, I’d really appreciate it!

RE: Problems Installing Klipper Firmware on Prusa MK3S+

Hi
I did the mod from Marlin to Klipper firmware on a Pi4B 8G, not straight to the point, but i did not have specific issue to flash the firmware...I did it thru the USB.
May be an idea if it's still your concern: put the RPi set up to OFF on the LCD menu while connected to the USB, assuming that you initially had a PiZero connected to the Einsy board, and so the RPi on ON in the menu.

My issue with Klipper was more setting up the correct parameters.
It technically works on my MK3S+ but the outputs were awful !

So, from now, I am back to Marlin Prusa 3.14 as a firmware and I already prepared Octodash but not yet installed via USB
