RE: octoprint won't stay connected
octoprint won't stay connected. I can't paste the logs without getting a security warning and deleting everything I posted. Each of the 5 times I retype this it has gotten shorter.
error is too many consecutive timeouts.
yes rpi is enabled. I have tried 2 cables and all 4 USB ports on the pi
RE: octoprint won't stay connected
There was a communication error while talking to your printer. Please consult the terminal output and octoprint.log for details. Error: Too many consecutive timeouts, printer still connected and alive?

RE: octoprint won't stay connected
I do wish that connecting with Octoprint didn't stop a print in flight.

@dan-rogers
A few more details?
RE: octoprint won't stay connected
Yeah sure. When you start up octoprint and access the UI in a browser and then hit connect button. It connects no problem. But as soon as it connects, the printer "resets" and anything you are currently printing from SD is stopped, no way to resume.
I wish for a printer setting that says "do not reset/reboot on serial port connection"
RE: octoprint won't stay connected
I think the printer will reset on any USB connection, not just OctoPrint. Edit: Apparently it's an Arduino thing. Without it, flashing new firmware is difficult.
You definitely don't want to be doing anything that will reboot or reset OctoPrint while in the middle of a big print!

@philip
If you transfer your data via USB cable, you must disable RPI. When transferring data via GPIO, RPI is enabled and no reset is triggered anymore.
