Octopi and Stats
I've recently added an octopi (Pi 3B), and that all seems to work nicely, except I no longer get updated stats on the printer (running time and filament used).
Googling on the subject seems to suggest that there was a plugin that would supply some answers, but that isn't currently available. Is there anything out there at the moment which will do the job (apart from a stopwatch, tape measure and note pad) ?
Thanks
Adrian

Is there a lot of interest in this? What stats do you want?

I can't gauge interest (google suggests that people are asking), but what I would like (as a minimum) is what my printer gives me if I'm not using the Octopi, which is time run (*) and filament used. The time run is useful for knowing when I need to give it a service.
* The printer's idea of time run can be a bit interesting. I've seen it clock up 27 hours on a number of occasions when it has only be turned on for 17, and I've checked at the same time each day.

My son is a programming student. I will ask him to do it on summer break.

I seem to have posted the same text too many times - why not ask on the OctoPrint board?
If it's because you installed OctoPrint using OctoPi, it doesn't matter OctoPrint is OctoPrint however it's installed.

@towlerg
It has been asked there and I posted the same message.

I didn't ask on the OctoPrint board for two reasons, firstly, because it is (I think) a Prusa specific question (but I'm happy to be shown that I'm wrong on that point), and secondly, because I haven't joined the Octoprint board.
As a newcomer to Octoprint/Octopi, I'm not sure I know what the difference is. I downloaded the image file from the Octo site (not the Prusa site), and installed it on a new SD card, which I then put into a new Pi, and away I went.
I suppose that one of these months, I might sit down and work out how to write my own plugins, but I don't have the time at the moment, which is why I was asking if anyone knew of one that was available.

"I didn't ask on the OctoPrint board for two reasons, firstly, because it is (I think) a Prusa specific question (but I'm happy to be shown that I'm wrong on that point), and secondly, because I haven't joined the Octoprint board." In common with many 3d printers Prusa use Marlin firmware, the interface between the printer and the outside world (be it SD card, OctoPrint, Pronterface etc.) is GCode. Of course there are minor differences, manufacturers customize Marlin, possibly adding or removing validity of certain GCodes.
"As a newcomer to Octoprint/Octopi, I'm not sure I know what the difference is. OctoPrint is an application which install on an OS (commonly Raspian) whereas OctoPi is the complete package of application and OS.

You don't need to write plugins to get value from OctoPrint or it's board. I suspect only a small percentage of members create plugins. Just having a good idea will fire a dev to write a plugin.

Thanks for the explanation of the difference between Octoprint and Octopi.
The point in this case isn't so much I've had a good idea, but someone else had the idea in the past and produced a plugin which would have done the job (I think - without installing I can't be 100% sure), but that plugin is now apparently unavailable due to Python issues.
