octo print out of filament detection

I was printing a large print via octoprint and run out of filament overnight.  In the morning found it was printing without filament.

I did this before printing from SD card and prusa mk3 handled it like a pro.

My octo is not a pi as it is too expensive, it is via a windows mini machine.

Found this link but it suggested the issue is already fixed (at least in a mini). https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/user-mods-octoprint-enclosures-nozzles/prusa-mini-ignores-filament-sensor-with-octoprint/

Just wondering if anyone else has the same issue as me.

Thanks

Never mind, it is the filament sensor, I can't auto load filament any more.  found some article suggesting put some spacers there.  Only bought this less than a month ago per-assembled.  this is not good.

What you linked to is for the Mini, not the Mk3. For the Mk3 I never noticed an issue with Octoprint, for the Mini after all the firmware upgrades it's still an issue for me (well, used to be, I'm currently playing with Prusalink/Prusaconnect).

RE: octo print out of filament detection

In the case of a printer connected filament runout sensor, Octoprint will only stop streaming if the condition is notified. If your printer cannot send that GCode (I suspect M412 but don't quote me) then the filament detector needs to be connect to Octoprint. In your case, not using a Pi then that may be problematic.
