Moons stepper issue
Hello, im having problems with my moons steppers. i changed in the firmware the microsteps to 16 and the esteps from 100 to 200 for Y and X.
I tried different values for #define TMC2130_CURRENTS_H, too. But nothing work.
Firmware: 3.9.3
Prusa i3 MK3s
Any idea?
RE: Moons stepper issue
Which motors did you install?
RE: Moons stepper issue
MS17HA2P4100
RE: Moons stepper issue
Yeah. Same ones I have. Drop in replacements - no settings changes required. Recommend restoring to original motor specs/settings.
RE: Moons stepper issue
Okay so again to 32 microsteps? The bondtech upgrade firmware changed to already down to 16.
RE: Moons stepper issue
Your post reference X and Y - not E. If you have the finer resolution motor on E, I wouldn't change that. Only change X and Y back to stock. This was the easiest motor upgrade because I didn't need to mess with settings, or redoing them some day if I need to factory reset.
RE: Moons stepper issue
Okay, thank you I will try this out.
RE: Moons stepper issue
When I change it back to stock it looks like this:
RE: Moons stepper issue
Out of my league. I went for those motors because they required no firmware changes on a stock printer to adopt for X Y or E. So mine are working wonderfully - nice and quiet, all of my old tuned GCODES are printing better.

RE: Moons stepper issue
Okay I will wait for some other ideas.
Thank you anyway 🙂
RE: Moons stepper issue
Here's a thought. Factory reset - should revert to whatever the original settings are.
I don't know the math - is a microstep the # of steps in a degree? Anyway, factory reset might help you get your X/Y settings back, but then you will need to redo your E if you have changed that out to a different ratio.
RE: Moons stepper issue
I found the solution.
i talked to this a few weeks ago to a forum member and he told me that 8 microstepps won’t work on this. I tried 8 microstepps and it worked perfect. 🙂
